Month: August 2012

  • How can it be a week since i last blogged??!!??

I posted on facebook yesterday that it has been 2 months since we left Newfoundland, not the case, even though time is flying, its only been a month and a bit since we left.

I am so excited for this weekend, we are going to Prince Edward island- i have been there before but Brooke and Andrew never has been so we are heading there on friday morning, not sure when we will be back, perhaps sunday afternoon or monday- who knows, we will come back when were ready:P

I am so excited to take Brooke to Avonlea- she is a big Anne of Green Gables fan, so she is in for a treat this weekend. I want her to be able to enjoy herself there and have fun

There is also Sandspit to go to – its like a big fair, with all kinds of fun things to do to entertain my kiddo

The beaches are lovely, the food is like none other.

I am excited. will have a ton of pictures when i get back

  • Since i had to quit my job to move here with hubby( no regrets) , i had to file for employment insurance. I have been waiting for 7 weeks with no income coming in – Good thing hubby makes good money- still i wanted my income, it was mine and i felt i should get it.

Been calling all week and no changes. So today i called and i was feeling a little peeved with it. I asked to get to talk to someone in charge, i got the sweetest lady and she had my claim processed within 5 mins.

I thanked her so many times, it could have been resolved weeks ago.

    Thankful

  • Hey all, welcome to a new week and hope it is a good one for you

Here is all about our weekend

Friday pm- we went to get groceries because we desperately needed them before i cooked anything more, and i really needed a day off, when i work i never cook on Friday or very seldom anyway :p.
We got that done and was home before 7:30, then i made chicken pitas for supper, was so yummy. We hung out and Brooke and i watched a movie of Beezus and Ramona- LOVE it

Saturday Andrew left at 8 am to go out of town for the morning, Brooke and I went to family fun day at a church here, was so much fun, we met up with some friends and they had a good time playing together. Then Hubby texts me and told me there was someone standing beside him that i would want to see, so off i went to find him and oh my word- here is a friend from back home, i hugged her and we chatted. we made plans to get together that night for coffee and hang out more, it didnt happen. We went to Giant Tiger and picked up some things we needed for the party that we were having here on sunday ( more later).Came home and cleaned the house and Brooke met some more kids on the street, so they were all out playing. I decided i would make dessert so i made chocolate cream  pie and skor cookies, oh my it was soooooo good. I ate way to much dessert this weekend.

Sunday- We had church in the am and pastor and his family came over for lunch, i made this with garlic bread and oh my word- it was so amazingly good, def will make it again.
I tidied the house again to prepare for Sunday’s housewarming party that the church is hosting for us.
We had everyone show up at our house around 8 pm, we grilled Hot dogs and Hamburgers, we had chips, cookies,cheese/crankers,pie, and  so much more food- everyone brought some. We got some really nice presents. I forgot to take pictures, yep thats me. Someone should have some though.

    That was all she wrote
  • Just one month ago we left out home of 10 years behind, we had gotten a 4×8 foot trailer to town behind our car, we were beginning a new adventure.
We took clothes, personal items, pictures and books- its only stuff anyway and whats the good of stuff.

For the first 13 days we stayed with friends who are like family we got spoiled and it made the move so much easier.

Life here is so GREAT. I dont know if i have ever felt so happy in a place before.

We have met some wonderful people here in just a short month, made memories  that will last a lifetime. So dont be afarid of change, it can be good <3

So NB we think your pretty awesome :)

  • I know i dont talk about my husband on my blog much so in honor of 15 years since we met, here is how i feel about this man i feel blessed to call my husbandHe’s got my back. Always. This is hugely important to me. I know that hubby is 100% behind me, always. He is always there for me, and always takes my side. He is my true partner, in every sense of the word

I trust him completely. Look, I know one should never say never, but for all the important things in life, I trust him completely. I know he always has my best interests at heart.

He’s funny. Hubby might come across quite serious at first, but he has an impish sense of humour – there is NOTHING he likes more than to pull a prank on someone. He is very funny.

He is clever. More important than looks, power, money etc, ‘clever’ has always been my ‘thing’. I love clever and hubby is very clever. At all sorts of things.

He is hot. Being caught up in the daily grind of work/kiddo/sleep etc, this is something I don’t notice often enough, but the man is hot. If I had to describe my ideal physical characteristics in a man, he would be it.

He loves my parents. This is HUGE for me – I could never be with someone who didn’t love and respect my parents. They mean the world to me and it would be an absolute deal breaker if it was any different.

We are remarkably similar in many respects – we have the same attitude towards money, family, punctuality etc etc

Yet we are different enough to make life interesting. We compliment each other, he is strong where I am not, and visa versa. I think life would be very boring if we were pure carbon copies of each other. Does make for some ‘interesting’ times though.

He works hard. I don’t think I could be with a slacker. I complain, often, about how hard he works and his work ethic, but I also admire how much he puts in. Any employer would be lucky to have him on his team.

He is the father of my child. An Amazing one at that. He loves his little girl more then life it self.
I could actually go on and on. He really is perfect for me. Make no mistake, he is a HUGE pain, an industrial enema at times, but he is perfect for me. some people often says she has no idea how the two most anal, odd people in the world managed to find each other. And it is quite weird actually, considering we are from such different backgrounds and he is older than me. But we were obviously meant to be together.

  • Back home in Newfoundland, we were always being asked “when is baby #2 going to come” or “dont let Brooke grow up without any siblings”-
Well ladies and Gents- listen up for an announcement

THERE WILL NEVER BE A BABY #2

    Thank you for listening!

    Seriosuly though

It drives me crazy how often we get asked that same question, when we first got married, we didnt know how many we would have, now our life feels complete and we are happy. Some times i feel a yearning to hold a new baby, but when i hear the cries, i am glad i can just give them back to their parents.
Brooke is all we want for a child, maybe if God’s will is for more, he will let it happen. I pray it dont, but we cannot control God’s will, if he decides we are gonna have more kids, no matter what happens we will have them.

Brooke has been asking for a sibling- then when kids come here and they leave, she says im glad i have no brothers or sisters.

    That’s all

  • The words just wont form tonight, i’ll be back hopefully tomorrow

  • Grade 4

It hit me today that my baby girl is going to grade 4, in a brand new school, where so far she knows one person and they are not in the same class.
Brooke asked me today if we could home school her bc she dont want to be the new girl, from what i hear there may be more new people because this neighborhood has one of the best elementary schools here and people move here to attned the school.

I can imagine the first day being hard for her and i wish i could go and stay all day with her so that she dont feel so alone.
it feels like her first day of Kindergarten all over, i can see me breaking into tears when i leave her.
Hubby is taking a few days off that week that she starts.

Brooke No matter how old you get, to me you are always my baby girl. heart
